Honda Announces 2011 CR-Z Hybrid

Honda has recently released information on its brand new 2011 CR-Z hybrid. The new car will be the sportiest hybrid available in today’s market and will even come with a manual transmission. This seems to be the first manual transmission ever available on a hybrid car. The baby Honda will come with a 1.5 liter engine which is paired with a 10-kilowatt brushless electric motor. Although the numbers for fuel efficiency are not astounding, they are very respectable at 39 mile per gallon highway driving in the automatic version of the car and 2 mile per gallon less for the manual transmission. Of course if you are going to be driving the car like a sporty car is sometimes driven then the fuel efficiency is going to be a little bit less.
The most astounding fact about the new Honda CR-Z hybrid is that the car will start at just $19,200. This is an incredible price point for a car that comes with an electric motor and a 3D dash display. The low price will be a huge advantage for the car allowing younger buyers who can’t afford the more expensive hybrids to by the new CR-Z hybrid car.
The biggest problem with the new Honda CR-Z hybrid car is the fact that it only comes with two seats. This makes it a difficult purchase for someone needing to transport a family around, but it might not be a problem for someone merely looking for a fuel efficient commuter car. If buyers can overcome this small limitation than the new Honda CR-Z is sure to be a hit among American car buyers.
